Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and work together with internal stakeholders, such as program managers, to gather requirements and model criteria.
  • Leverage tools and resources to plan, evaluate and execute strategic initiatives
  • The candidate will be responsible for the data integration and solution design for ingesting data from various sources to the data warehouse
  • Create and manage an array of data design deliverables including data models, data diagrams, data flows and corresponding data dictionary documentation
  • Serve as an advocate for the data analytics team and data management discipline, policies, and standards across MMS organization
  • Mapping of relational entities to use cases or business requirements and assisting in the development of data services
  • Influence projects to make decisions related to data strategies including data quality, data architecture and data management best practices. 
  • Be proactive and provide status of effort accomplished, estimates of remaining effort, and issues impacting progress
  • Work closely with the other Data Engineers and Scientists to deliver results
  • Troubleshooting, Monitoring and Performance Tuning of various software components of various data science analytical solutions, Restful web services and etc.
  • Understanding of large database mining tools and statistical languages utilized to efficiently build approaches and execute on analytical use cases.
  • Communicate results and educate others through reports and presentations
  • Demonstrated experience in reviewing enterprise and data architecture artifacts, deliverables, and processes for quality standards

Minimum Requirement

  • 10+ years of experience in a technology role; proven experience in a Architecture role, preferably in a large, complex organization.

Critical Skills

  • Experience with Spark, Kafka, and similar distributed computing technologies. Proficiency in analysis (e.g. Python, R, SAS) packages
  • Strong mathematical background with strong knowledge in at least one of the following fields: statistics, data mining, statistics, operations research, econometrics, and/or information retrieval (image processing (OpenCV) and natural language processing is a plus).
  • Extensive market knowledge and experience with cutting edge Data, Analytics, Data Science.
  • Extensive professional experience with ETL, BI & Data Analytics
  • Deep expertise in Data Architecture, Data Modeling, and task estimations.
  • Practical hands-on experience with data technologies and Cloud Platform like Snowflake, Databricks, GCP and Azure.
  • Hands on experience working on analytical platforms like SAS, R, Python, Azure ML
  • Expertise in Unix Shell scripting and Dependency driven job schedulers.
  • Expertise in Data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau and Looker is a plus
  • Strong experience with the distributed cluster management. Understanding of Docker/ Kubernetes container orchestration technologies.

Additional Knowledge / Skills:

  • Understanding of the agile software development methodology (e.g. Scrum, Kanban)
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence. 
  • Flexibility to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity, and rapid change.
  • Extensive experience with data engineering technologies, business intelligence tools, designing, reporting and delivering analytic solutions, data management and warehousing, and the strategic use of information
  • Positive and flexible attitude to enable adjusting to different needs in an ever-changing environment
  • Experience with data in the drug supply chain and commercial domain within healthcare, pharma is a plus
  • Strong leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills; comfortable managing trade-offs
  • Ability to lead others without direct authority
  • Highly influential and ability to educate stakeholders on the role of data and its purpose in the business
  • Teams up and collaborates for speed, agility, delivery excellence and innovation
  • Strong negotiation and decision-making skills
  • Fast and capable learner. Results oriented, enthusiastic, creative thinker

Education:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field OR equivalent experience

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$138,800 - $231,300
