Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead DevOps/Middleware Architect/Engineer to join our JD Edwards team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing and maintaining the middleware infrastructure that supports JD Edwards EnterpriseOne applications. This role involves working with WebLogic, Oracle HTTP Server (OHS), and Apache Tomcat, ensuring the seamless performance, availability, and security of these critical components. The candidate will be responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing middleware environments and ensuring business continuity.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and configure WebLogic Server and Oracle HTTP Server (OHS) to support JD Edwards EnterpriseOne applications.
  • Deploy, configure, and administer JD Edwards services on middleware platforms.
  • Apply patches, upgrades, and hotfixes to WebLogic and OHS systems while ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Install, configure, and maintain Apache Tomcat servers to host customer-facing mission-critical applications.
  • Support application deployments to middleware platforms across multiple environments.
  • Perform regular security hardening, log monitoring, and patch management.
  • Implement robust monitoring solutions using tools such as Dynatrace to track middleware performance, availability, and security.
  • Tune middleware systems for optimal performance and scalability.
  • Set up proactive monitoring and alerting to address potential issues before they impact production.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex middleware issues related to performance, security, and availability across WebLogic, OHS, and Tomcat.
  • Collaborate with the JD Edwards application team, DBAs, and other stakeholders to resolve system issues.
  • Perform root cause analysis for any middleware outages and provide long-term solutions.
  • Ensure middleware environments (WebLogic, OHS, Tomcat) comply with security standards and best practices.
  • Implement SSL certificates, perform vulnerability assessments, and apply security patches.
  • Maintain access control policies, perform regular audits, and monitor logs for suspicious activity.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts (using tools like Ansible, Bash, or Python) for middleware deployment, configuration management, and operational tasks.
  • Continuously look for opportunities to optimize middleware processes, improving reliability and efficiency.
  • Create and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery plans for all middleware systems.
  • Test and validate middleware recovery procedures to ensure data and service integrity.

Minimum Requirements:

Degree or equivalent and typically requires 4+ years of relevant experience.

Critical Skills:

  • Five years of experience with JD Edwards middleware, including Oracle WebLogic, Oracle HTTP Server (OHS), and Apache Tomcat.
  • Hands-on experience with Windows and Linux environments.
  • Strong understanding of networking, load balancing, and SSL configuration in a middleware context.
  • Experience in scripting with Bash, Python, or PowerShell for middleware tasks.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex system issues.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment with strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong experience in monitoring and troubleshooting middleware environments, including tools such as Dynatrace.
  • Knowledge of automation tools such as Git, Ansible, Terraform with DevOps, CI/CD and Cloud experience is a plus.

Additional Skills:

  • Relevant middleware certifications.
  • Experience in cloud-based infrastructure (AWS, Azure) for middleware deployments.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$97,500 - $162,500
