The candidate will be part of the McKesson Pharmacy System (MPS) Training Team under the leadership of the Manager of Training.  The primary focus of this position is to provide product-specific training to external customers throughout the implementation timeline.  The candidate will host various instructor-led training classes for pharmacy staff, in addition to providing onsite support and training during go live week for medium to large-sized implementations of MPS technologies.  The candidate will also support training for single or multi-site Digital, Specialty, Health System, and Chain operations by creating and updating training materials and documentation to satisfy customer training needs.  Travel to customer sites is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Explain and train the structure and functions of software, applications, and platforms within the McKesson Pharmacy Systems portfolio
  • Ability to quickly learn and maintain understanding of MPS products as releases and updates are published
  • Conduct virtual instructor-led training classes for multiple students
  • Provide support and on-the-job training at customer locations during go live week
  • Create new training materials and documentation to satisfy customer training strategy and needs, in addition to attending and contributing to training strategy calls with the customer
  • Educate other technical trainers and associate technical trainers on new and updated training materials to prepare the team for upcoming instructor-led training classes
  • Employ overall knowledge and expertise on the MPS product portfolio to collaborate with implementation teams on moderately complex customers projects regarding strategy and solutions.
  • Work with Senior Technical Trainers and implementation teams to understand a customer’s persona, business strategy, and needs to better create for training materials, in addition to updating the team’s internal knowledge base
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation and provide reporting to direct management and implementation teams on training item status, issues, progress evaluation, and attendance records

Minimum Requirement

Degree or equivalent and typically requires 2+ years of relevant experience.

Education

4-year degree in business, communications, education or related field or equivalent experience.

Critical Skills

  • 2+ years of Training or Instructional Design experience.
  • Direct technical training experience of software products, applications, and/or services.
  • Experience should include onsite, classroom, and distance learning.  
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Business suite, specifically MS PowerPoint
  • Experience with adult education techniques and learning theory
  • Ability to adapt to external customer communication needs and learning styles
  • Experience with implementing change management techniques
  • Experience with instructional design and/or creating new instructor-led training materials and curriculums

Preferred Skills

  • Pharmacy technician or equivalent experience in a Chain, Mail, Specialty, or Digital pharmacy environment.
  • Proven experience in applying well-developed problem-solving skills (quantitative, conceptual, consultative, analytical) working with all levels of an organization. 
  • Ability to follow and document training progress using an established documentation standard
  • Experience creating and maintaining an internal knowledge base system
  • Proven effective professional communication skills at all levels of an organization.
  • Ability to successfully complete tasks with minimal oversight.
  • Microsoft Teams and Confluence experience
  • Strong training and instructional design background.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong written and verbal skills.

Physical Requirements

Large percent of time is at customer sites. 

Requires physical demands of travel and standing for 10-12 hours per day while on location.

Overnight travel required from 75% to 100%

Our Base Pay Range for this position

$27.84 - $46.40
