Job Summary

McKesson is seeking a Vice President, Knowledge Management & Thought Leadership.

The Vice President of Knowledge Management and Thought Leadership advances the development of the P&AS thought leadership agenda. Coordinates resources and business development activity in key areas of the P&AS value offering with Marketing, Sales, National Accounts and with other McKesson business units. Responsibilities include leading the development and maintenance of knowledge and thought leadership landscape and building materials and tools for the P&AS team and others engaging with customers on value solutions (e.g., SF.com, Nazca, VBCOGS, 340B, KPI and proprietary information.) Leads and coordinates business development within MHS and across McKesson BU’s where P&AS services and knowledge support MHS Value offerings. Collaborate with MHS Marketing, Sales, National Accounts and P&AS leadership to develop content, resources, and communication plans for P&AS value services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with leaders and peers across McKesson businesses to build capabilities and improve operating efficiency across MHS through optimizing solution delivery to better serve evolving customer needs.

  • Lead product and service owners’ engagement with MHS to integrate offerings to align MHS objectives and with customer needs.

  • Act as the lead facilitator between McKesson’s business initiatives and MHS customer needs or implementation challenges for value solutions.

  • Partner with MCK product teams to define/implement strategy to capture growth/opportunity for MHS clients.

  • Build KPIs and utilize structured assessments and customer insights to craft targeted high value solutions.

  • Work with MHS leadership and field resources to coordinate effective and regular value communications.

  • Draft communication plans and narratives that demonstrate coordination across products and solutions to assemble assets to realize MHS customers’ highest priority objectives and future proof our business relationship.

  • Draft guidance and communications on future impact(s) of regulations, technology or advancing science on McKesson and MHS customers.

  • Work on testing whether the decisions being made are aligned with the strategy and are working towards the company’s goals and customer goals.

  • Lead P&AS work to define and build a resource documents and communications on market trends and evolution to inform strategy with competitive intelligence.

  • Organize complex topics into briefs, white papers and materials that allow customer-facing teams to effectively pivot to value conversations.

  • Lead P&AS knowledge resource management and maintenance activities.

  • Advisory Services Support - Playbooks and other structures.

  • Nazca, VBCOGS and other KPI repositories.

  • Orphan Drugs, Drug Shortage & Biosimilars.

  • P&AS Customer-specific data.

Education & Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent. MBA or equivalent preferred.

  • Typically requires 13+ years of experience, with 8+ years, of direct work-related experience.

  • Less years of experience are required if the individual has relevant Master's or Doctorate qualifications.

Critical Skills

  • 10 years of diverse leadership/management experience in the healthcare segment and in marketing and/or strategy.

  • Experience leading cross-functional / cross business unit teams and projects effectively, delivering results.

  • Expertise in the pharmaceutical supply chain required.

  • Experience in Health Systems Pharmacy or administration highly valued.

  • Superior communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills; ability to form compelling narratives and business cases.

  • High energy, self-starter, with ability to manage by influence.

Working Conditions

  • Able to travel domestically 25% of the time.

  • Remote Work Environment – Home Office.

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$196,700 - $327,800
