The McKesson Cell, Gene, and Advanced Therapies business is at the forefront of healthcare innovation, specializing in the development of services which support groundbreaking therapies that are revolutionizing patient care. We seek a driven Director of Implementations to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and leading the successful deployment of our technology solutions with new clients. You will manage all aspects of the implementation process, from initial onboarding to post-launch, ensuring that clients receive an exceptional experience and that all project deliverables are completed on time and within scope.

Key Responsibilities

Client Engagement and Relationship Management:

  • Partner with sales, customer success, and product teams to ensure a smooth transition from contract signing to implementation
  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for new clients, establishing and maintaining strong relationships throughout the implementation process to ensure a smooth, positive experience
  • Work closely with clients to understand their unique business needs and tailor the implementation strategy accordingly, ensuring that our technology solutions align with their goals
  • Deliver training and support to clients to ensure they understand the solution and feel confident in its use after the implementation phase
  • Conduct regular check-ins, progress updates, and post-implementation reviews to measure success and drive ongoing engagement

Project Leadership and Execution:

  • Oversee the end-to-end implementation process, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and with high quality
  • Establish and enforce project management best practices, methodologies, and tools to optimize efficiency
  • Develop detailed implementation plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and key milestones
  • Manage and mentor a team of implementation specialists, providing guidance, training, and professional development
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration between internal teams, including Sales, Account Management, Technology, and other business stakeholder teams  
  • Track and report project performance metrics, continuously refining strategies to improve outcomes

Continuous Improvement and Support:

  • Analyze implementation processes, identifying opportunities for optimization, automation, and efficiency gains
  • Gather customer feedback to drive improvements in onboarding, training, and deployment strategies
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to provide insights that enhance product usability and configurability
  • Lead post-mortem reviews to assess project successes, lessons learned, and areas for improvement
  • Develop documentation, playbooks, and best practices to enhance knowledge sharing and future implementations

Minimum Requirement

  • Degree or equivalent experience. Typically requires 12+ years of professional experience and 4+ years of management experience.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering or related field; MBA, MS, or other advanced degree preferred

Critical Skills

  • 8+ years of experience in project management or client implementation roles, preferable in a technology environment
  • 5+ years of experience within healthcare and the life sciences, particularly in areas related to Cell and Gene therapies or similar domains

Additional Skills

  • Strong experience in cell and gene therapy
  • Understanding Biopharma Services and importance to customers and associated stakeholders
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering SaaS, enterprise software, or cloud-based solutions
  • Strong project management skills (PMP, Agile, or Six Sigma certification is a plus)
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to tailor communication style to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to build trust and rapport with customers at all levels, fostering long-term relationships
  • Forward-thinking entrepreneurial mindset, capable of identifying opportunities, taking initiative, and driving innovative solutions within a dynamic team environment
  • Thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, adept at managing multiple priorities and initiatives

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$126,500 - $210,800
