Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical IT Business Analyst to join our dynamic team in the transportation and supply chain industry. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between our business objectives and technological solutions, ensuring successful implementation of IT projects and enhancement of business processes.

Job Description

The IT Business Analyst will be responsible for managing inbound and outbound transportation systems for McKesson technology. The candidate will work closely with stakeholders to understand their needs, gather requirements, and translate these into functional technical specifications.

Responsibilities

Requirement Gathering

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements.
  • Conduct interviews, workshops, and surveys to elicit functional and non-functional requirements.

Analysis and Documentation

  • Analyze business processes and workflows within the transportation and supply chain context to identify areas for improvement.
  • Create detailed documentation including business requirements documents, functional specifications, use cases, and user stories.

Solution Design

  • Work with technical teams to design and propose solutions that meet business needs.
  • Ensure solutions are aligned with business goals, IT strategy, and industry-specific requirements.

Testing and Validation

  • Develop and execute test plans to ensure solutions meet business requirements.
  • Facilitate user acceptance testing (UAT) and ensure issues are resolved.
  • Identify, document, and track defects and issues, ensuring they are resolved promptly.
  • Conduct various types of testing, including unit, integration, system, regression, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Ensure rigorous quality control procedures are followed and documented.

Stakeholder Communication

  • Act as a liaison between business units and IT teams.
  • Provide regular updates to stakeholders and ensure their needs are met.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify and recommend opportunities for business process improvement.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements in transportation and supply chain.

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum of 4+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in an IT environment, preferably within the transportation or supply chain industry.
  • Proven experience in requirements gathering, analysis, and documentation.

Critical Skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in business analysis tools and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.

Additional Skills

  • Experience with warehouse distribution and transportation management systems.
  • Ability to conduct various types of testing including unit, integration, system, regression, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Strong documentation skills including the creation of business requirements documents, functional specifications, use cases, and user stories.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Business Administration, or a related field. An advanced degree is a plus.

Our Base Pay Range for this position

$84,300 - $140,500
