The Sr. IT Architect – Gx Optimization is a strategic technical leader responsible for designing and implementing scalable system architectures that optimize operations in the generic pharmaceutical space. This role collaborates across business and IT teams to ensure technology solutions align with business goals, drive innovation, and support continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop scalable, secure, and high-performing system architectures for generic pharmaceutical operations.
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications and architectural designs.
  • Lead system enhancements and modernization initiatives.
  • Provide technical mentorship to junior architects and developers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and delivery of technology solutions.
  • Promote innovation and continuous improvement in architecture practices.

Minimum Qualifications

8+ years of experience in IT architecture roles, preferably in pharmaceutical or healthcare domains.

Critical Skills

  • Expertise in scalable architecture design and process optimization.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience with system integration and enterprise architecture frameworks.
  • Deep SQL Server experience (stored procedures, views, functions, table design).
  • Exposure to modern cloud database platforms (Azure preferred; GCP acceptable).
  • Familiarity with Databricks, MongoDB, and Snowflake is a plus.
  • Proficiency in SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred)

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$126,400 - $210,600
