Role Description
The Sr. Device Deployment Lead plays a crucial role in overseeing the deployment of hardware solutions within an organization. This role involves managing vendor relationships, identifying, and implementing better hardware solutions, and ensuring that all hardware deployments are executed efficiently and effectively. The Hardware Deployment analyst must possess strong leadership skills, a thorough understanding of hardware technologies, and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Vendor Management
Maintain Vendor Relationships: Establish and nurture strong relationships with hardware vendors to ensure the procurement of high-quality products and services.
Vendor Selection: Evaluate and select vendors based on their ability to meet organizational needs, cost-effectiveness, and reliability.
Contract Negotiations: Be an integral member of the team negotiating contracts with vendors to secure favorable terms and conditions, including pricing, delivery schedules, and service level agreements (SLAs).
Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitor vendor performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and address any issues that may arise.
Vendor types: Device, mobility, and accessory vendors
Solution Identification and Implementation
Needs Assessment: Collaborate with internal teams to assess hardware needs and identify opportunities for improvement in existing hardware solutions.
Research and Evaluation: Partner with End User engineering to conduct thorough research to identify new and emerging hardware technologies that can enhance organizational efficiency and performance.
Solution Design: Design and develop comprehensive hardware deployment plans that align with organizational goals and objectives.
Implementation: Oversee the implementation of hardware solutions, ensuring that deployments are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
Testing and Validation: Conduct testing and validation of new hardware solutions to ensure they meet organizational requirements and perform as expected.
Feedback and Improvement: Gather feedback from end-users and stakeholders to identify areas for improvement and make necessary adjustments to hardware solutions.
Project Management
Project Planning: Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk management strategies for hardware deployment projects.
Team Coordination: Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including IT, procurement, business leaders, and operations, to ensure smooth execution of hardware deployment projects.
Progress Tracking: Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to stakeholders, highlighting any potential risks or issues.
Problem Resolution: Address and resolve any issues that may arise during hardware deployment projects, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
Budget Management: Manage project budgets, ensuring that all expenditures are within allocated limits and that cost-saving opportunities are identified and implemented.
Documentation and Reporting
Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of hardware deployment processes, including project plans, vendor contracts, and performance reports.
Reporting: Generate regular reports on hardware deployment activities, vendor performance, and project outcomes, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.
Compliance: Ensure that all hardware deployment activities are compliant with organizational policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
Ensure all newly imaged devices are compliant with McKesson security standards.
Ensure accurate forecasting is maintained and updated.
Minimum Requirements
Typically requires 7 years relevant experience.
Critical Skills
5+ years of experience in IT hardware deployment, vendor management, or related roles.
Strong knowledge of End User Computing hardware technologies.
Experience with hardware deployment tools and methodologies (ServiceNow, SCCM and InTune).
Proven experience in managing complex hardware deployment projects, including project planning, execution, and monitoring.
High attention to detail, ensuring that all hardware deployments are executed accurately and efficiently.

Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing technology trends and organizational needs, and to implement new hardware solutions as required.
Education
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field OR equivalent experience. A master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, ITIL) are a plus.
Work Environment
This position operates within a professional office environment. The role necessitates the utilization of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers. Occasional travel may be required.

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations.
