Position Description:
The Senior Security Coordinator will be part of the team responsible for leading or supporting the execution of Cybersecurity goals and objectives (through the governance and management of Cybersecurity initiatives and resources, and ensure security risks are managed, and the organization complies with security requirements and regulations through active collaboration with our customers and stakeholders).
Primary Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary liaison between the Business Information Security Officer (BISO) and the general security team.
Interpret complex security requirements from the BISO and translate them into actionable plans for the security team.
Develop and recommend security strategies aligned with business objectives.
Assist with the conduction of risk assessments and provide mitigation strategies.
Offer technical advise and expertise on security technologies, frameworks, and best practices.
Advise on governance, risk, and compliance matters relevant to the business unit.
Prioritize and oversee the execution of security initiatives within the team.
Provide regular, comprehensive status updates to the BISO on ongoing projects and emerging security concerns.
Contribute to the development of security policies and procedures from the perspective of the BU.
Provide expert security advice and guidance to the BISO and business units.
Stay informed about evolving security threats and industry trends to provide proactive recommendations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (in Information Security, Computer Science, or related field), or equivalent experience. Master's degree preferred.
7+ years of experience in IT or information security.
Demonstrated experience in providing security guidance at a strategic level.
Strong background in security governance and risk management.
Experience working with or within various business units to understand and address unique security needs
Relevant security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CRISC) are a plus.
Key Skills:
In-depth knowledge of information security principles, practices, and technologies.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Strong understanding of Agile project methodologies and the ability to function effectively in that type of environment.
Proficiency in risk assessment and risk management.
Understanding of relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards.
