The Senior Director of Infrastructure Observability & Compliance is responsible for driving the strategic vision and operational excellence of enterprise-wide scheduling solutions, enhancing observability infrastructure, and ensuring compliance with McKesson best practices.

This role requires extensive experience in Infrastructure & Operations, strong leadership skills, and a comprehensive understanding of emerging technologies and best practices. Reporting to the VP of Infrastructure, the senior director will play a key role in shaping the organization’s infrastructure strategy and ensuring reliability, efficiency, and regulatory adherence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the strategic roadmap for observability, scheduling, and patch management aligning with organization goals.
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and optimization of observability tools and platforms to ensure robust monitoring, visibility, and predictive analytics across the IT infrastructure and applications.
  • Lead the management and enhancement of enterprise-wide scheduling systems, ensuring seamless integration, reliability, and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure adherence to compliance requirements by implementing and maintaining policies, processes, and controls to meet McKesson compliance standards.
  • Develop and oversee patch management strategies to ensure timely updates, minimize vulnerabilities, and maintain compliance.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies & trends; and recommend technology solutions to support business requirements.
  • Collaborate with MT cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Collaborate with the cyber security team to ensure that infrastructure solutions comply with security standards and best practices.
  • Develop and manage budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources and alignment with financial goals.
  • Monitor and report on key performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of McKesson disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure successful scheduling & automation of scripts.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence aligned to McKesson’s i2Care and iLead values to ensure development and growth.

Minimum Requirements:

Degree or equivalent and typically requires 12+ years of experience in IT infrastructure and operations.

Minimal Requirements & Skills:

  • Extensive experience (12+ years) in IT infrastructure and operations.
  • Strong knowledge of scheduling/automation of batch processing operations.
  • Extensive experience with leading observability platforms.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team and drive operational excellence.
  • Relevant certifications in IT infrastructure are a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise patch management.
  • Good understanding of SOX controls and NIST framework.
  • Excellent knowledge of cloud services.
  • Knowledge of ITIL and IT Service Management.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage diverse teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Excellent strategic planning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

Education/Training:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; advanced degree or professional certifications in related areas preferred.

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$164,700 - $274,500
