Current Need
McKesson is looking for a Team Lead Wireless Network Engineer to join our Design and Engineering team. The ideal candidate is highly analytical and able to use their advanced skills to enhance the Network Design and Engineering team’s primary objective in crafting resilient, sophisticated, modern, and cost-effective network solutions that serve McKesson’s critical businesses and customers.
All network solutions are tested and documented prior to deployment and support by McKesson partners. Collaborative and customer centric skills are critical in continuing the Network Design and Engineering team’s trusted advisor brand, for the benefit of McKesson’s customers and supporting business units.
What You’ll Do:
·Architectural Design: Develop, design, and implement high-performance wireless network architectures with a focus on security, capacity, redundancy, and scalability.
·Strategic Planning: Lead the planning and deployment of complex wireless projects, overseeing configuration, testing, and integration of wireless components across various locations.
·Team Leadership: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to a team of network engineers, coordinating project deliverables and ensuring best practices are followed.
·Advanced Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex wireless network issues, leveraging advanced tools and methodologies to ensure high availability and minimal downtime.
·Performance Optimization: Conduct in-depth monitoring and analysis using industry-leading tools such as NetFlow, Wireshark, Ekahau, and AirMagnet to optimize network coverage, speed, and reliability.
·Network Security Oversight: Develop and enforce wireless security protocols and policies (e.g., WPA2/3, 802.1x) to safeguard the organization’s data and infrastructure.
·Documentation and Reporting: Oversee the documentation of network designs, configurations, policies, and change management to ensure accuracy and alignment with organizational standards.
·Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with IT, security, and systems engineering teams to align wireless infrastructure with broader IT and business strategies, supporting both existing operations and new initiatives.
·Support and Escalation: Act as a top-level escalation point for complex network issues and support critical incidents in a timely, effective manner.
What We’re Looking For:
We are looking for a Lead Wireless Network Engineer to design, implement, and troubleshoot advanced wireless networks. The ideal candidate will have expertise in scalable design, network architecture, and technology evaluation, as well as experience leading infrastructure projects in large enterprise environments.
Minimum Requirements
Typically Requires 10+ years of relevant experience
Critical Skills
·Experience: 7+ years of experience in wireless network engineering, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead role.
·Hands on experience with Aruba Wireless and NAC or ClearPass required
·Software Proficiency: Advanced experience with wireless analysis and management tools such as Cisco Prime, Ekahau, AirMagnet, Aruba Wireless, and ClearPass.
·Certifications: CCNA Wireless, CWNA, Aruba Certified Mobility Associate (ACMA), Aruba Certified ClearPass Associate (ACCA), or equivalent.
·Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of wireless networking standards (e.g., 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax), RF principles, and best practices in Wi-Fi network deployment.
·Advanced Network Protocols: Proficiency in networking protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VLAN, and VPN.
·Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to solve complex issues effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
·Additional Certifications: Advanced certifications in Aruba, such as Aruba Certified ClearPass Professional (ACCP), Aruba Certified Mobility Expert (ACMX), Cisco Wireless Networking (CCIE Wireless), or CompTIA Network+. Advanced certifications like CCIE Wireless, CWNP, or Aruba Certified Mobility Professional (ACMP) preferred.
·Industry Experience: Experience with wireless networking requirements specific to [e.g., healthcare, manufacturing, or education].
·Advanced RF Knowledge: Extensive experience with RF site surveying, interference mitigation, antenna placement, and network tuning for optimal wireless coverage.
·Leadership: Strong leadership and mentoring abilities to manage, motivate, and guide technical teams.
·Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for cross-functional collaboration, reporting, and training.
·Problem-Solving Abilities: Strategic thinker capable of managing large-scale wireless projects independently in a fast-paced environment.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Network Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field OR equivalent experience. Master’s degree preferred.

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations.
