Current Need
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced SAP Data Volume Management (DVM) Practice Lead to oversee and drive our DVM initiatives across multiple SAP environments. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of SAP DVM strategies including SAP Archiving, tools, and best practices, as well as a proven track record in implementing and managing data volume optimization programs. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and leadership to guide teams in improving system performance, reducing costs, and ensuring optimal data management within SAP landscapes to enable SAP modernization and pathways to S/4 Hana based technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the SAP DVM Practice:
Help Develop and execute a comprehensive Data Volume Management strategy across various SAP systems (S/4HANA, ECC, etc.).
Provide thought leadership and act as the subject matter expert for DVM-related topics.
Lead initiatives to minimize the data footprint, reduce database size, and optimize system performance for the current state and enable the modernization to future state through DVM techniques.
Lead the development of SAP data retention policies and procedures.
Strategy & Roadmap Development:
Collaborate with cross-functional IT and Business stakeholders to identify business needs and develop a DVM roadmap aligned with organizational objectives.
Ensure alignment of SAP DVM strategies including archiving with business requirements, regulatory standards, and policies.
Implementation & Execution:
Oversee the implementation oftools such as PBS Solutions and SAP ILM (Information Lifecycle Management), data archiving, data tiering, and other SAP DVM solutions.
Develop guidelines for data retention policies, archiving processes, and data purging strategies in alignment with the Records and Information Management policies.
Lead performance optimization initiatives and ensure effective monitoring and management of data growth.
Implement best practices for data archiving to improve SAP system performance and data retrieval efficiency.
Operations and Continuous Improvement:
Develop and maintain documentation on DVM procedures, standards, and best practices.
Stay updated on the latest SAP DVM technologies and trends, ensuring the organization leverages the best tools and practices.
Continuously assess and enhance data management processes to improve system performance, reduce operational costs, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Provide regular updates and reports on DVM health, performance metrics, and future opportunities for improvement.
Minimum Requirement
Minimum of 10+ years of experience in SAP environments with solid understanding of SAP Archiving roles.
Critical Skills
Techno-functional knowledge of different modules in SAP.
In-depth knowledge of SAP data archiving concepts, strategies, and tools.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to drive strategic initiatives and adapt to evolving business needs.
Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
AdditionalKnowledge & Skills:
Experience in designing and implementing SAP archiving solutions, including ADK, ILM, and third-party tools.
Experience with ABAPis a Plus.
Knowledge of Data Aging, NSE, Data Tiering concepts for Hana based SAP applications.
Knowledge of PBSsolutions including Content Link
Knowledge of regulatory compliance (GDPR, SOX, etc.) as it relates to data management.
Experience with SAP Solution Manager for DVM monitoring and reporting preferred.
5+ yrs of experience in an architect positionpreferred.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in computer science/engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
Candidate must be authorized to work in the U.S, now or in the future, without the support from McKesson.

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations.
