About the Role:

As the Senior Director of Enterprise Connectivity Services and Cloud Modernization, you will lead the strategic transformation of McKesson’s CIMS Phase II Modernization and Enterprise Connectivity Services. This role requires experience in leading EDI/Connectivity platform services, particularly in industries such as retail or healthcare with strong experience in managing cloud platforms and technologies. Additionally, this role requires a strong background in cloud architecture, microservices, and enterprise integration technologies to drive modernization, scalability, and operational excellence. You will be responsible for the transition from legacy architectures to a cloud-native, API-driven, and event-driven ecosystem, ensuring a seamless customer experience while improving performance and security.

What You’ll Do:

Service Leadership & Execution Excellence

  • Manage and mentor a high-performing team of engineers and service leads, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement of EDI Connectivity platform.
  • Lead efforts for CIMS modernization, focusing on process and technology improvements with an emphasis on self-service, improved service to suppliers and customers, and overall enhancement of the end-to-end EDI platform experience.
  • Implement best practices in software engineering, security, and DevSecOps to ensure compliance and operational excellence.
  • Champion Shift-Left security practices, integrating vulnerability management into the development lifecycle.
  • Ensure seamless partner onboarding with AI-driven automation and intelligent workflows for improved efficiency.

Cloud Modernization and Execution

  • Lead the modernization of McKesson’s CIMS platform, transitioning legacy systems into a scalable, cloud-native microservices architecture using Azure, Kubernetes, and Spring Boot.
  • Implement an API-first strategy and event-driven architecture leveraging Kafka for real-time data processing.
  • Drive the adoption of CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, JFrog) to automate deployments, improve system reliability, and reduce time-to-market.
  • Oversee integration with Power BI, ELK stack, and Dynatrace to enhance observability, monitoring, and reporting capabilities.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Partner with Enterprise IT, Cybersecurity, Architecture, PMO, and Business Leaders to align cloud strategies with McKesson’s strategic objectives.
  • Collaborate with SAP, Oracle, and other enterprise platforms to ensure smooth integration and data synchronization.
  • Establish governance frameworks through daily stand-ups, weekly progress reviews, and strategic planning sessions.
  • Lead integration efforts that provide a seamless experience to customers and suppliers across all McKesson business units, improving visibility, quality of service, and analytics around partner integration..

Customer Experience & Engagement

  • Lead initiatives to improve customer satisfaction and user experience by delivering a modern React-based UI/UX for CIMS 2.0.
  • Enhance self-service capabilities and real-time notifications to improve stakeholder communication.
  • Drive data-driven decision-making by integrating business intelligence and advanced analytics into the platform.
  • Provide guidance and thought leadership on best practices for technical product development, solution design, technology delivery, and cloud architecture to be accountable for consistent standards of excellence in execution.

What We’re Looking For:

Minimum Requirements:

Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Mathematics/Statistics (or similar), or related field.

Business Experience / Training:

  • 13+ years of professional experience with 10+ years in leadership roles driving EDI/Connectivity/Integrations platforms and cloud platform modernization.
  • Proven track record in managing large-scale technology programs and leading cross-functional engineering teams.

Critical Skills/Experience:

Technical Skills & Knowledge:

  • Expertise in developing and implementing EDI/Connectivity platforms
  • Expertise in Cloud Transformation (Azure, Kubernetes, Spring Boot, API Gateways).
  • Strong understanding of enterprise connectivity standards: B2B, EAI, EDI, sFTP, AS2, Java.
  • Experience with technology frameworks (TOGAF, ITIL, CMMI) and best practices in software architecture.
  • Knowledge of modern observability and logging tools (ELK, Dynatrace, Power BI).
  • Strong understanding of DevSecOps, CI/CD Pipelines, and AI-driven automation.
  • Experience working with multiple integration products in a technical capacity – development, architecture, and technical management.
  • Extensive experience in working with external partners and internal stakeholders, with a strong understanding of making complex B2B programs successful.
  • Ability to understand business goals, translate them into technical objectives, create program charters, and execute complex multi-year programs.
  • Understanding of the Pharma and Pharma distribution industry, with the ability to bring in industry knowledge to help transform and modernize the CIMS platform.
  • Deep knowledge of organizational, business, and technology complexities and their impact on integration/B2B modernization programs.

  • Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making capabilities.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and strategic planning skills.
  • Experience working with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to drive business outcomes.

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. $174,900 - $291,500
