Current Need

This role will be part of the Enterprise Architecture team, serving as the facilitator of the Enterprise Architecture (EA) Review Board. The EA Review Board Lead plays a key role in coordinating and supporting the activities of the EA Review Board. This role involves working closely with the EA Review Board, IT teams, and development units to ensure that architectural discussions are productive, aligned with the company's strategic goals, and adhere to technology standards.

Key Capabilities

Documentation and Maintenance

  • Document and maintain architecture standards, patterns, and exceptions to ensure consistency and quality across the organization.
  • Create and manage a repository for EA artifacts, ensuring easy access and organization of all relevant documents.
  • Ensure traceability of architecture decisions and maintain a structured approval process.
  • Utilize tools such as LeanIX, Confluence, or SharePoint for document management and collaboration.

Meeting Management

  • Set up calls and prioritize tasks for the EA Review Board, ensuring all relevant stakeholders are engaged and informed.
  • Define the cadence of EA Review Board meetings to ensure timely and effective decision-making.
  • Lead the development and scheduling of training sessions, and archive training materials for future reference and ongoing education.

EA Review Board Coordination Scheduling and Facilitation

  • Schedule and run EA Review Board meetings, ensuring all relevant stakeholders are engaged and informed.
  • Facilitate discussions on architectural governance, technical debt, and IT strategy alignment.
  • Help guide conversations toward consensus by ensuring alignment with enterprise goals and technical feasibility.

Documentation and Follow-ups

  • Maintain documentation of EA Review Board decisions, action items, and exceptions, and ensure timely follow-up on outstanding issues.
  • Track architectural deviations and ensure mitigation plans are in place.

Decision Support

  • Provide coordination and administrative support to drive productive discussions within the EA Review Board, ensuring that debates remain constructive and focused.
  • Assist in framing technical topics for discussion and guide participants toward aligned decision-making without having direct authority over decisions.
  • Develop decision frameworks and review criteria for evaluating architecture proposals.

Strategic Thinking

  • Ability to connect enterprise architecture discussions with the company’s strategic goals.
  • Support the evolution of enterprise architecture governance and best practices by identifying patterns and trends from review board discussions.

Change Management

  • Assist in managing and implementing change within the enterprise architecture domain by facilitating clear communication and alignment.
  • Partner with IT leadership to drive adoption of architecture governance processes.

Communication

  • Communicate architectural discussions, decisions, and plans effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Develop executive summaries and presentation materials to support leadership decision-making.
  • Ensure transparency in review board decisions by documenting rationales and sharing insights with relevant stakeholders.

Minimum Requirements

Typically requires 10+ years of relevant experience

Critical Skills

  • Technical Acumen: Ability to follow enterprise architecture discussions, understand technical concepts, and facilitate meaningful conversations without needing deep subject-matter expertise.
  • Enterprise Architecture Methodologies: Familiarity with TOGAF, Zachman, or similar frameworks.
  • Cloud and Infrastructure: General understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), microservices architecture, and hybrid infrastructure environments.
  • Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC): Awareness of agile development practices, DevOps principles, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Security and Compliance: Basic knowledge of security architecture principles, data governance, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Project Management: Experience in project management and driving large-scale coordination.
  • Collaboration Tools: Proficiency in SharePoint, Confluence, JIRA, and LeanIX to manage documentation, workflows, and architecture repositories.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Strong organizational skills to maintain the effectiveness of the board and document lifecycle management.
  • Facilitation and Leadership: Hands-on experience in facilitating cross-team meetings and engaging with both technical and business stakeholders.
  • Enterprise Integration: Exposure to API management, middleware platforms (such as MuleSoft), and integration architecture best practices.

Education
4 years Computer Engineering / Software Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$127,500 - $212,500
