Current Need

We are seeking a Director of SAP S4 Business Transformation to lead our SAP S4 ERP implementation journey and drive transformation across our business units. This critical leadership role within McKesson Technology’s ERP Transformation capability involves providing leadership for the development and execution of the SAP S4 technology roadmap and key critical initiatives.

The individual will champion ERP modernization, automation, and technology transformation as key enablers of McKesson Technology’s strategic goals. The successful candidate will collaborate with various teams, including Order to Cash, Supply Chain Management, and Finance, to design and implement SAP solutions that meet business objectives. This role is pivotal in ensuring the successful deployment and optimization of the SAP S4 landscape across the enterprise, fostering ownership and accountability among key architects. Responsibilities include program planning and deployment, budget management, P&L management, risk management, operations transformation, systems integration, and SAP S4 HANA Enterprise Transformation.

This position is based out of our Irving, TX headquarters or one of McKesson hub locations and involves extensive collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

Position Description:

  • Leadership & Strategy: Lead the SAP S4 transformation initiatives, ensuring alignment with business goals and technology strategies. Develop and execute a comprehensive roadmap for SAP solutions.

  • Solution Design: Oversee the design and architecture of SAP S4, BTP, Datasphere and integrations with all other SAP and non-SAP applications in the landscape supporting solutions in Order to Cash, Supply Chain Management, and Finance processes. Ensure solutions are scalable, robust, and aligned with industry best practices.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with business partners, MT solution architects, SAP and System Integrator teams to gather requirements, design solutions, and drive implementation. Foster a collaborative environment that encourages knowledge sharing and innovation.

  • Project Management: Lead and manage multiple SAP S4 full lifecycle implementations, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and budget. Monitor progress, resolve issues, and ensure successful project outcomes.

  • Governance & Compliance: Ensure all SAP solutions adhere to regulatory requirements and internal governance policies. Implement best practices for data management, security, and compliance.

  • Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to solution architects and other team members. Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional development.

  • Able to shape and deliver an up front Customer Value discovery phase of an S4 HANA program including the development of a business case and roadmap

  • Responsible & accountable for On-time delivery of Program commitments within quality, schedule, budget, and customer-satisfaction targets

  • Oversees design and development of ERP architecture (integrated process, applications, data, and technology) solutions to business problems in alignment with Enterprise architecture direction and standards

  • Responsible to lead ERP Program activities, milestones, and lead consensus discussions/ alignment with key business stakeholders

  • Leverage consulting or System Integrator company process experience to better match potential vendor and MT technical offerings to emerging McKesson business problems and challenges

  • Supports the MT Principal Architect, Solution architects and Enterprise Architecture teams to help define Enterprise Solution requirements and business process mapping deliverables

  • Ability to shift between the “big picture” and project level details. Works through detailed issues when required.

  • Actively communicates with customer leadership, project sponsors, key stakeholders, and project teams.

  • Thorough understanding of project management methodologies and best practices; to include Activate, Scrum, Agile and Waterfall

  • Build high performing teams that can work flexibly incorporating hybrid remote working models.

  • Ability to quickly adapt to changing business requirements and their corresponding technologies

  • Clear and concise communication as relates to project and portfolio health at multiple levels of leadership

  • Willingness to challenge the status-quo with empathy and an understanding that we are on a journey to bring everyone along

Minimum Requirements:

Typically requires 12+ years of professional experience and 4+ years of management experience.

Critical Skills:

  • Program leadership, accountability, and delivery of at least one large SAP S4 full lifecycle implementation.

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in large, global organization in cross-functional roles with progressive responsibility specifically in SAP ERP implementations

  • 10+ years of SAP functional experience supporting Finance, Sales, Customer Service, Order Management, Procurement, or Fulfillment business functions

  • Proven leadership capability to run large program delivery spanning multiple organizations and stakeholders

  • In-depth knowledge of SAP S4 and SAP ECC configuration and functional modules.

  • Strong understanding of BTP platform, SAP S4 toolsets and integration points between SAP modules and other enterprise systems.

  • Expertise in project management methodologies and tools.

  • Experience managing program budget, P&L and cost modeling for large enterprise-wide programs

  • Experience in the Life Sciences or Pharmaceutical, distribution industry is a plus.

  • Strong business acumen and ability to align IT strategies with business goals.

  • Certification in SAP S4 HANA is preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional teams and projects.

  • Ability to motivate and influence leaders and teams without direct authority

  • Financial acumen and ability to make data driven decisions 

  • Experience conducting presentations and training

  • Advanced application software skills including but not limited to presentation, spreadsheet, and word processing applications

  • Ability to interact with multiple levels of management

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$133,400 - $222,300
