Reporting to the Sr. Transportation Manager, the Transportation Manager, Operations Support is responsible for the daily operations of plasma and intra-3PL and McKesson product moves.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day operations for a fleet of temperature-controlled equipment to meet customer service metrics safely and within established quality parameters
- Works with Clients to manage volume changes and any issue resolution
- Track and analyze data for on-time reporting, billing, and performance metrics and act as the primary contact for plasma client communications
- Creates weekly schedules and communicates changes as necessary, collects data for operational moves and 3PL client moves for analytics to recommend cost savings initiatives, respond to RFPs, and conduct RFQs
- Monitors and implements risk management process including factors such as traffic disruption by events or social gatherings, weather, or other factors. Includes oversight of factors, monitoring, and communication to potentially impacted business partners
- Responds to transportation alerts for cold chain fleet and facilitates responses as appropriate
- Supports billing and invoice auditing processes
- Provide data and analytics for client presentations, cross-functional teams and upper management related to volume, cost-improvement initiatives, security, and service
- Produce reports, presentations, and other communications to deliver or support presentation to cross-functional teams and clients
Typical Minimum Experience
- 5+ years of transportation management experience, preferably in a large multi-level organization, including route management, cost management, and team development for both domestic and international operations
- 1+ years of leadership and team management experience
- Bachelor’s degree Business Management/relevant field, or equivalent experience
Critical Skills
- Cold-chain transportation management experience
- Experience with managing a 24/7 Dedicated Fleet operation
- Experience managing the shipment or receipt of outgoing or incoming materials and products
- Exposure to Transportation Management Systems
- Experience with evaluating and implementing improvements to distribution procedures to improve timeliness or reduce costs
- Excellent computer skills, including a high degree of proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Ability to communicate effectively to Customers and Senior Management
Additional Skills
- SAP and Mercury Gate experience a plus
- Transportation auditing

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations.
