Current Need


McKesson is looking for a Senior Network Engineer to join our Design and Engineering team. The ideal candidate is highly analytical and able to use their advanced skills to enhance the Network Design and Engineering team’s primary objective in crafting resilient, sophisticated, modern, and cost-effective network solutions that serve McKesson’s critical businesses and customers. All network solutions are tested and documented prior to deployment and support by McKesson partners. Collaborative and customer centric skills are critical in continuing the Network Design and Engineering team’s trusted advisor brand, for the benefit of McKesson’s customers and supporting business units.

Position Description 

Key Accountabilities

  • Plan, design, deploy, and mature network infrastructure, services, and processes to meet business needs
  • Deliver annual OKRs & KPIs for service availability, capacity, and performance management
  • Provide escalation-level support to our incident, problem, and change management processes
  • Collaborate with IT Governance during assessments and audits, providing evidence to support the control framework
  • Lead complex IT projects e.g., greenfield/brownfield deployments, vendor-to-vendor migrations, mergers & acquisitions
  • Drive standardization, reduce needless complexity, and challenge convention
  • Create and maintain comprehensive engineering documentation
  • Ongoing proactive maintenance of network infrastructure & services
  • Participation in business continuity and disaster recovery planning, testing, and maturity
  • Participation in operational support 24x7 on-call rotation as required
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements 

  • Typically requires 9 years’ relevant experience

Critical Skills

  • Thorough experience with Infoblox NIOS and BloxOne solutions along with complementary products
  • Knowledge of Infoblox best practices with relations to tool usage and deployment
  • Experience with BIND and Active Directory DNS
  • Exceptional understanding of DHCP including the protocol itself and processes
  • Exceptional understanding of DNS including registration processes 
  • Exceptional understanding of IPAM including supernetting, subnetting, and tags/attributing
  • Experience with Cloud DNS providers including 3rd party SaaS solutions and Microsoft Azure, and limited Google Cloud
  • In-depth experience with managing domains and DNS records 
  • In-depth experience with HTTP and relation to DNS including WAF, simple redirect services, and load balancer concepts
  • Work with F5 networks LTM
  • Experience using NPM tools such as Logic Monitor, Dynatrace, Splunk, and ThousandEyes

Additional Experience

  • Knowledge of the healthcare, distribution, or software industries is a plus
  • Extensive experience supporting mission-critical, highly regulated networks within finance or healthcare. 
  • Extensive experience supporting security frameworks & controls for HIPPA, PCI, SOX, CIS, NIST, ISO, etc. 
  • Extensive experience in solution architecture design & tech-lead within IT project delivery
  • Expert knowledge of enterprise networking, IP routing, packet switching, data flow analysis, etc
  • Extensive experience operating within an ITIL ITSM organization with a background using ServiceNow
  • Extensive experience with diagramming software
  • Excellent communication skills, directly interfacing with IT leadership, business stakeholders, and technical teams
  • Experience with Perl, Python, and bash/ksh scripts is a plus
  • Must have a strong customer and quality focus
  • Understand human behavior and how employees, customers and business partners will likely react in a crisis situation

Education 

 4-year degree or equivalent experience

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$112,400 - $187,300
