Job Description:
The Data & Analytics Lead Data Platform Engineering will serve as a key member of the Platform Engineering team and assist in the delivery of solutions and services within the Data Platform architecture.  This role serves as the senior engineer responsible for implementing cloud-based data platform solutions which have high availability, low latency, high performance, high efficiency and optimal cost.  These capabilities and solutions are defined by the roadmap of the cloud-based Data & Analytics platform. 

Responsibilities:

  • You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our data platform infrastructure
  • Implement and uphold modern software design principles, ensuring best practices in CI/CD, DevOps, and infrastructure-as-code
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as data engineers, software engineers, infrastructure teams, and business units to enable effective data cohesion to support business processes and analytics
  • You will work closely with the application teams, data analysts, and data scientists to provide data access and enable analytics
  • Enable and support self-serve data engineering solutions for both the wider data team and engineers
  • Proactively ensure the security and integrity of the platform and data feeds and take part in security and privacy design reviews
  • Perform application deployments acting as a gatekeeper to the production environment
  • Identify areas for improvement in the data platform infrastructure and develop solutions to address them.
  • Experience working with large datasets, pipelines, modern warehouse technologies, and data processing (real-time and batch) at large scale.
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure successful implementation of data-driven solutions
  • Developing and implementing best practices for data integration, data quality, and data governance
  • Keeping up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in data engineering and healthcare technology
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot any issues
  • Ensuring the scalability, reliability, and security of the data platform
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to the data platform infrastructure
  • Perform incident investigation, diagnosis and provide resolution
  • Ensures business needs are being met by evaluating the ongoing effectiveness of current plans, programs, and initiatives
  • Promotes and supports company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by training and providing direction to others in their use and application, ensuring compliance with them
  • Demonstrating creative, critical thinking & troubleshooting skills
  • Up to 10-15% travel may be required (domestic and international)

Minimum Requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent, with at least 10+ years of relevant experience.

Critical Skills:

  • Strong experience in designing, developing, and managing data platforms, and be a self-starter who can work independently and in a team.
  • Strong communication skills who quickly establishes credibility and is capable of leading cross-functional technical teams.
  • Highly motivated and technically skilled Senior data platform engineer, and you are passionate about developing data-driven solutions.
  • Experience working with large datasets, pipelines, modern warehouse technologies(Snowflake), and data processing, analytical capabilities(Databricks)at real-time and batch
  • You should also have experience with cloud technologies, such as AWS, Azure, and GCP
  • Experience with distributed systems, streaming systems, and data tools, such as Kubernetes, and Kafka.
  • Strong knowledge of database technologies, such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
  • Experience with Data Governance concepts such as Data lineage, Data Quality etc.
  • Design and manage data platforms, including data storage, data processing, data security, and data quality.

Additional Knowledge / Skills:

  • Understanding of the agile software development methodology (e.g. Scrum, Kanban)
  • Strong experience with distributed cluster management. Understanding of Docker/ Kubernetes container orchestration technologies.
  • Able to use sound judgment and prioritize
  • Must be flexible, team-oriented and able to accept and create change
  • Enjoys working with numbers and data sets
  • Fast and capable learner. Results-oriented, enthusiastic, creative thinker

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as Computer science, Applied Mathematics, Engineering or related quantitative.

Our Base Pay Range for this position

$144,600 - $241,000
