The Operations and Hardware Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of hardware systems within the organization. This role involves designing, developing, and implementing hardware solutions, as well as troubleshooting and optimizing existing systems. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in hardware engineering, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Hardware Assessment and benchmarking. The candidate will be expected to review and recommend hardware solutions to meet end-user workstation organizational needs, benchmark resources, optimize performance, and ensure robustness, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.

  • System Integration: Integrate hardware and software systems to ensure seamless operation and interoperability.

  • Address hardware issues and ensure third-party hardware vendor accountability.

  • Optimization: Continuously monitor and improve hardware performance, optimizing systems and end-user peripherals for efficiency and reliability.

  • Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for hardware designs, system configurations, and troubleshooting procedures.

  • Compliance: Work with existing operations leads to ensure SLAs are met and exceeded. 

  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, IT specialists, and project managers, to achieve project goals.

  • Vendor liaison: Manage relationships with hardware vendors, partners, including support and performance evaluation.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in hardware engineering or a related field.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in hardware design and development, system integration, and troubleshooting.

  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex hardware issues.

  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information effectively.

  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and contribute to collective success.

  • Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance.

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations.In addition to base pay, other compensation, such as an annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities may be offered.
