Responsibility

Job Summary

The Regional Sales Manager is the face of our Technology Solutions group in their perspective region. Focusing on the independent pharmacy market, this position is primarily responsible for Automation sales while also generating pharmacy software leads (Rx & POS systems). The individual will take ownership in hunting for/growing the business in their assigned territory, becoming a known trusted advisor within their market. The role will require establishing and maintaining business relationships with both new and existing customers, while collaborating with our inside sales team and other internal departments. Extensive travel throughout the territory is required, along with nationwide travel for tradeshows. The Regional Sales Manager must be a self-starter who can work autonomously, multi-task, and organizing themselves to be most effective. All duties must be performed consistent with the McKesson I2Care and ILEAD shared principles.

Section A –Responsibilities

  • Responsible for attaining annual sales targets & defined objectives

  • Proactively identify & qualify leads to generate new business opportunities

  • Develop & execute a territory plan and/or a sales strategy

  • Assist or lead contract negotiations as necessary

  • Work closely with inside sales to achieve overall business goals

  • Manage expenses to budget

  • Collaborate with other McKesson teams and Business Units as required

  • Participate in company sponsored training and sales programs

  • Learn and maintain necessary product knowledge to ensure success

  • Be an active leader for McKesson's presence at tradeshows and develop industry relationships

  • Ability to travel extensively (roughly 50%) to cover assigned territory – Alberta

  • Complete necessary reporting in a timely fashion: sales, forecasting, budgeting expenses, etc.

  • Collaboration with implementation/operations teams to see signed sales through to installation

  • Ability to work individually as well as in a team environment.

Section B – Job Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent; 4+ years of proven sales experience

  • Comfortable hunting, building relationships, & selling to small and medium sized businesses

  • Strong organizational skills & ability to multi-task

  • Superior problem-solving skills

  • Highly analytical

  • Technologically savvy

  • Collaborative approach to working with colleagues

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Bilingual (English & French), an asset

  • General understanding of retail pharmacy industry, equipment, & dispensary workflow an asset

  • General understanding of healthcare policies in Canada an asset.
