Job title: Senior Manager - Entra ID & Active Directory


Work location: Remote / USA or Hybrid for (Mckesson hub office location) Irving, TX / The Woodlands, TX / Alpharetta, GA / Richmond VA / Columbus OH

Position Description: The Senior Manager - Entra ID & Active Directory is responsible for managing a team of Entra Identity ID / Active Directory Services Security Analysts within a large, complex, global environment. This individual is responsible for governance and operational support of authentication services providing identity and access management (IAM) functions and systems enabling highly available secure employee access to applications and data across the enterprise. This individual will consult with other teams such as security architecture, Information Security & Risk Management, Risk and Controls Group, and other application team leaders to support overall Information Security policies and compliance.

Areas of Responsibilities:

  • Ensure operational stability of mission-critical IAM systems including Active Directory, Entra ID, LDAP, single sign on (SSO), and related supporting utilities and services
  • Evaluate Directory Services operational activities and solution designs to ensure they achieve stable, supportable outcomes.
  • Partner with internal customers such as application owners and system owners to drive adoption of directory services and ensuring the service meets requirements.
  • Partner with internal IT and application teams that manage infrastructure and services upon which Directory Services relies.
  • Develop and drive evolution of identity systems, strategy and roadmap, improving operational maturity levels and adding capabilities based on current and anticipated customer needs.
  • Establish, document, and communicate Directory Services capabilities, policies, and procedures to key stakeholders.
  • Lead a diverse on-site and remote team that is responsible for the operations support, overseeing intake, assignment, and delivery of service requests and operational incidents.
  • Lead decision making, planning, and execution of major upgrades and migrations.
  • Provide governance and compliance leadership. Work with internal and external auditors to provide requested evidence in a timely manner.
  • Recommends and develops security measures to protect information against unauthorized modification or loss.
  • Discover opportunities to automate existing manual processes and introduce new automation to enhance security posture and remove manual efforts through automated solutions using scripts, pipelines etc.
  • Actively seeks to research innovations in IT security as well as IAM technologies and service and strives to ensure McKesson continues to deliver best practices and standards.
  • Serve as Directory Services subject matter expert and provide advisory and consulting services as needed.
  • Partner with Managed Service Providers (MSP), consultants, recruiters, outsourcing providers, and software vendors that provide IAM products and services.
  • Manage employee development and performance.
  • Provide reporting and visibility to executive management.

Qualifications and Critical Skills:

  • Demonstrated Identity and Access Management governance, compliance, and operational support experience (including budget, structure, schedule, and staffing) for large-scale Enterprise Access Management engagements.
  • Advanced knowledge of Active Directory, Azure Active Directory/Entra ID, Lightweight Directory Access Protocol, Active Directory Federation Services and other centralized identity stores.
  • Experience leading the delivery of functionality and services on time, within budget while still meeting business need.
  • Experience in managing, implementing, and maintaining Enterprise Security
  • 10+ years overall IT experience
  • 5+ years of experience in IAM area working IAM tools such as Active Directory, Entra ID, Okta
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

Additional Knowledge & Skills:

  • Strong, proven critical thinking skills and ability to identify, analyze, and resolve problems, driving solutions through to completion.
  • Proficient in analyzing requirements, resource estimation, and allocation.
  • 4+ years of experience in a people leadership position.
  • Excellent in team leadership and team-based critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and oral, written communication skills.
  • Ability to translate complex technical information across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to self-manage on tasks and mini-projects or improvement efforts Strong facilitation skills and a clear ability to build strong relationships with business partners at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business drivers and priorities into security design, policies, and procedures.
  • Results driven, and able to collaborate with management and colleagues to share the responsibilities for achieving an end-to-end solution for customers.
  • Strong attention to detail which ensures that customer requirements are met and that a highquality standard is achieved.
  • Provide technical perspectives to other architecture functions to ensure that solutions effectively leverage infrastructure capabilities and services and integrate with them.
  • Must have excellent initiative, organization, and customer service skills.

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. In addition to base pay, other compensation, such as an annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities may be offered.

Our Base Pay Range for this position

$119,800 - $199,600
