Current Need

McKesson Pharmacy Systems is seeking a high performing Software Engineering Manager to join our EnterpriseRx research and development team. MPS offers an array of integrated pharmacy software solutions for the health care industry. Our systems are used to manage thousands of pharmacies nationwide within the independent, chain, hospital, and specialty market segments.

Position Description

If you have a passion for engineering software and a track record for leading high performing teams, we are interested in you.  We are seeking a leader that will inspire our teams to achieve fantastic results.  As a contributor within the EnterpriseRx research and development (R&D) team, you will manage and lead a collaborative and highly skilled Agile team responsible for EnterpriseRx®, an enterprise class software solution that observes pharmacy workflow activities and alerts pharmacy personnel of potential patient interventions that improve patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading a diverse team of both development and quality assurance to deliver high quality software that exceeds customer expectations
  • Developing the professional growth of direct reports, setting yearly goals and objectives as well as complete performance evaluations.
  • Assist with continual grooming of the product roadmap with R&D leadership and product management.
  • Lead projects that span across McKesson business units and work closely with their personnel and management.
  • Attracting and interviewing top talent within the local and national IT markets
  • Understanding the retail pharmacy and clinical services domain, and learning how customers use McKesson products to manage their business
  • Communicating complex topics to a diverse audience, including business leaders and customers
  • Championing continuous improvement and promoting software development best practices across teams.
  • 10-15% travel

Minimum Requirements:

Degree or equivalent experience. Typically requires 6+ years of professional experience and 0-2 years of supervisory experience.

Critical Skills

  • Experience in leading a commercial software engineering team strongly desired
  • 6+ years’ experience with developing, testing, and/or designing software applications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience giving and receiving feedback; both positive and critical. Expect to have to provide examples and describe your personal approach to this

Additional Skills

  • Experience prioritizing technical improvements in a product roadmap a plus
  • Energetic, passionate and creative leader who values people, relationships, and performance
  • Know the 12 principles of the Agile Manifesto. Experience leading a software development team with those first
  • Hunger for personal and professional growth; as an individual and as an organization
  • Proven ability to drive activities to closure while pursuing excellence
  • Innovative mindset
  • Experience working on HIPAA compliant projects
  • Experience working in Cloud PaaS (Microsoft Azure preferred)

Education:

Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or STEM field

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. In addition to base pay, other compensation, such as an annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities may be offered.

Our Base Pay Range for this position

$99,600 - $166,000
