Job Summary

Reporting to the Sr. Director, Sales Operations and Strategy, the Director, Customer Partnerships will play a vital role in supporting the development and execution of a cross-functional sales strategy for the Biopharma & Payer Solutions (BPS) team. The primary objective is to effectively align BPS resources and facilitate a shared understanding of all revenue generating projects and trends across the business unit.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Biopharma Partnerships team to launch a refreshed end to end market strategy for BPS. By working in close collaboration with various BPS business units, you will develop and execute a proactive, data-driven sales strategy to support key BPS priorities. Your expertise will be instrumental in establishing critical sales and business insights, which will inform the broader BPS sales strategy.

As the Director, Customer Partnerships, you will also provide strategic insights based on data analysis to drive the sales strategy execution. You will support the Sales Operations team with key business initiatives and contribute to the development of insights-driven sales processes. Your role will be seen as that of a strategic partner, accelerating the achievement of the sales strategy objectives.

Section A – Responsibilities

1. Strategic Planning and Market Analysis:

  • Design and launch a refreshed BioPharma & Payer Solutions go to market strategy that encompasses our entire customer value proposition to fully activate our customer experience.

  • Drive the activation of strategic opportunities and projects to optimize efficiencies and fully capitalize on key revenue-generating opportunities for BPS.

  • Lead the design and continuous management of our future molecule pipeline with the goal of narrowing in on key target companies and molecules from which to build growth for McKesson.

  • Analyze revenue trends to assess opportunities and risks, and work in collaboration with sales teams and the BPS ops team to understand the drivers of key trends by therapeutic area. Apply the insights and activate strategies to close the gap.

  • Take ownership of monitoring the payer and policy landscape, proactively analyzing potential impacts and emerging trends. Identify and address potential risks, ensuring proactive measures are in place to mitigate any negative impact on BPS revenue and operations.

2. Sales Funnel Management and Sales Operations:

  • Provide leadership and ownership to the BioPharma & PS financial process and ensure direct correlation to long range plan. Be actively involved in forecast updates ensuring strategic alignment across business units.

  • Proactively manage and track our sales funnel, in partnership with Business Development, Provider, MSD, and Data Commercialization sales teams.

  • Lead initiatives and enhancements that increase efficiency in the Sales organization, including working with BPS business leaders on the customization of our CRM.

  • Lead the development and continuous improvement of our sales intake process mapping.

  • Lead the RFP and client outreach process across BPS to maximize opportunities to win business.

  • Lead the development and execution of a cross-functional participant list for conference and trade shows to ensure appropriate representation on behalf of McKesson Canada.  As needed, participate in conferences and tradeshows and become aware of events and timing.

3. Client Segmentation and Targeting:

  • Leadership and oversight of our client segmentation and key target molecule identification initiatives.

  • Working with the BPS business units to support business initiatives and be seen as a strategic partner to accelerate the BPS cross-functional strategy.

4. Process Improvement and Efficiency:

  • Identify and lead the implementation of process improvement initiatives and streamlined business flow with customers to maximize customer experience.

  • Identify additional relevant internal and external data to help inform the BPS cross-collaborative sales strategy. Analyze external market trends and apply insights to be able to fully activate innovative solutions.

  • Identify and develop innovative strategies and tactics to optimize sales opportunities.

5. Leadership and Mentorship:

  • Provide coaching and mentoring to the sales team to help enable business intelligence and leverage best practices for sales operations to feed our strategic process.

Section B – Position Requirements

  • University degree in relevant discipline. MBA or other Master’s degree an asset.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the biopharma and/or healthcare industry required.

  • Expertise and knowledge in the Canadian biopharma landscape, including patient services, pharmacy programs, or related Specialty health care field is a strong asset.

  • Recognized expertise in data-driven sales strategies, preferably in the healthcare sector.

  • Knowledge of Canadian healthcare industry business and/or experience with IQVIA data sets are a definite asset.

  • Robust financial, process excellence, analytics acumen with proven track records of leading transformational projects.

  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to the development of innovative principles and ideas relating to a cross-functional sales strategy.

  • Advanced knowledge of the MS Office products (Excel, Power BI, PowerPoint, Word), and knowledge of or experience with CRM an asset.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Creative problem solver open to innovative analytic approaches, with a strong ability to collaborate with various stakeholders

  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills; results orientated, passionate and driven to succeed.

  • Demonstrated leadership, excels in a team environment, ability to manage priorities and meet tight deadlines.

  • High sense of urgency with ability to multi-task, work proactively and independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Bilingual (English and French), both written and spoken an asset.

As part of Total Rewards, we are proud to offer a competitive compensation package at McKesson. This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. In addition to base pay, other compensation, such as an annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities may be offered.

Our Base Pay Range for this position

$104,600 - $174,300
