We’re looking for someone with the skills of a successful software engineer and the heart of an architect. You’ll be part of an architecture team whose mission is to provide governance and oversight to a large, mission-critical commerce application. We will rely on you to become our subject-matter expert for a chosen service group, know its code, work streams, and constraints, and finally influence the service domain’s design and direction.

What You’ll Do:

  • You must be able to ask good questions. You must be curious.

  • You must be able to communicate complex technical subjects verbally and through writing (text and diagrams).

  • You will be expected to become the subject-matter expert (SME) of at least one service group. This includes communicating with the relevant vendor architects and technical leads, understanding and influencing the service group’s design, and monitoring any tradeoffs and constraints.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of full-stack development experience including, but not limited to, Java/Spring, TypeScript/React, and Python.

  • Bachelor's degree (in computer science, engineering, or a related field) or equivalent experience.

  • Experience designing and building REST-based APIs and Web UI development, HTML 5, and JavaScript (Angular, React).

  • Very knowledgeable in OOA/OOD and Design Patterns and cloud-native development.

  • Experience developing on AWS, GCP, or Azure.

  • Experience building and developing applications for Kubernetes.

  • Exceptional communication skills.

Preferred Experience/Skills:

  • Experience developing and supporting micro-frontend architectures working with a microservice backend.

  • A strong background in relational databases, such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, or MySQL.

  • A strong background in non-relational or NoSQL technologies, such as DynamoDB or Cosmos DB.

  • Practical knowledge and understanding of RESTful service design.

  • Experience developing within a cloud environment (Azure, GCP, AWS).

As part of Total Rewards, we are proud to offer a competitive compensation package at McKesson. This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. In addition to base pay, other compensation, such as an annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities may be offered.

Our Base Pay Range for this position

$128,000 - $213,300
