Sr. Instructional Designer Job Summary:

The Instructional Designer is responsible for the design, development, and delivery of training programs for our employees. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of instructional design principles and methods, as well as experience with a variety of authoring tools. Preferred experience in designing learning activities, assignments, and assessments for sales and account management based learners. Experience developing training on soft & functional skills and other job skill topics is a plus. This role will consult with internal clients (product, marketing, leadership, operations) on design requests, and be responsible for all stakeholder management related to various design initiatives. This person will partner within the team to prioritize projects and will manage the full lifecycle of design projects assigned.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct needs assessments to identify training gaps through learner observation, leadership, SME, and learner interviews.
  • Develop measurable objectives and ensure content aligns with those objectives.
  • Design and develop training programs that meet the needs of our employees.
  • Create engaging and effective blended learning materials with adult learning principles in mind, and to suit a wide range of learner needs.
  • Creates storyboard to support computer-based training (CBT) modules, writes scripts for video and audio content, and develops facilitator guides, rubrics, and other teaching tools.
  • Analyzes, updates, and refines existing content.
  • Crafts experiential learning activities to support learned skills in practices activities, assignments, and coaching guidelines for leadership support.  
  • Collaborates and conducts interviews with subject experts to garner and develop course content in a complex product and highly matrixed organization.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through Kirkpatrick methods of evaluation.
  • Stay up to date on the latest trends in learning and instructional design.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in education, instructional design, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in instructional design with experience developing training for sales and account management based learners.
  • Proficiency with common authoring tools (e.g., Articulate RISE, Adobe Captivate, Vyond), light amounts of graphic design (e.g. Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud), and learning management software (e.g. Cornerstone, Sumtotal).
  • Strong understanding of instructional design principles and methods
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team; high level of interpersonal skill and task orientation required with end-to-end project ownership in a multi-stakeholder culture.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. In addition to base pay, other compensation, such as an annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities may be offered.

Our Base Pay Range for this position

$78,400 - $130,600
