Our interdisciplinary team is merging the tools and techniques of genomics, healthcare, data analytics, web development, and cloud computing. We serve research, clinical development, pathology, and clinical care customers who work with high-dimensional genomic and other biomedical data. Your Impact:

Your work as the Staff Software Architect will impact individuals and organizations across the healthcare landscape: patients searching for the best treatment options, researchers seeking to make advances based on a sea of high-dimensional data, physicians deploying personalized medicine in everyday practice, and laboratories conducting some of the most advanced analyses in the world.

What You’ll Do:

  • Be the Technical owner and architect for our product portfolio

  • Drive technology roadmaps, architectural rigor, design maturity, and reliable engineering outcomes

  • Be an active member of an innovative and high-energy Engineering team. Design, develop, test, release, and support features in our web-based, cloud-hosted applications

  • Mentor and Coach other engineering colleagues through code and software design reviews, driving standards and reuse across teams

  • Partner with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to help shape and implement enhancements to our engineering process, products, and technology platform

  • POC and concept development to enable and influence technology prove out and continuous improvement.

Skills:

  • Prior experience as an architect building scalable, performant, and data-intensive web applications

  • Comfort with cloud-native technologies and proven knowledge in the areas of scalability, performance management and service-oriented architecture concepts

  • Full stack technology knowledge using one of the contemporary frameworks and readiness to learn new concepts

  • A demonstrable ability to design software to meet functional and technical requirements and to communicate your designs effectively

  • An interest in making an impact on healthcare and clinical research through technology

  • Ability to consider problems creatively and critically while collaborating with product owners, data scientists, and designers in order to come up with solutions

  • Strong commitment to teamwork and a humble attitude.

Additional Skills:

  • 7+ years of professional experience in software development with most recent experience as an architect for a technology function

  • AI stack on Azure

  • Familiarity with the various technologies:

o Front End – Vue.js or similar

o Back End – Grails, Java, Elasticsearch o Data Tier – SQL and NoSQL database technologies
