Job Description

The Data Governance Security Analyst will be responsible for master data security, more specifically pertaining to the review of user data access, ownership of system security roles, and data integrity for several data domains and systems across several North American business units. This position will work closely with SAP Security, as well as other ERP security teams, to ensure appropriate roles and transactions are securely enabled for users across the organization. Researching exceptions, performing cleanups of roles containing critical access, and analyzing comparisons between ERPs to ensure data syndicated remains in sync, will also be required. This includes identifying gaps and inefficiencies and proposing solutions and plans to streamline. The Data Governance Security analyst will work with the North American MDM teams to ensure mitigating controls are also implemented for critical attributes and related processes. Furthermore, this role will ensure the integrity of McKesson’s data definitions by establishing and maintaining a governance process to review and approve all requests for attribute creations and updates. Ensuring consistency and conformity to business requirements all the while ensuring alignment within all McKesson business units will be key in this role. This role will develop strong relationships with all business units and departments to influence and promote alignment in adopting new or modified data sets and processes.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Establish data access processes and policies
  • Review and approve business requests for system access
  • Security functions with SAP and other ERP security teams
  • Engage the Data Governance team for mitigating control development, implementation, and SOP documentation for critical attributes and processes
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a governance process for all requests pertaining to new and updated attributes; ensure historical tracking of requests
  • Ensure most current and up-to-date information is available to business stakeholders as required
  • Capture, document, and communicate best practices with technical resources
  • Identify exceptions due to syndication errors or unintended entries made between ERPs
  • Ownership of the governance process of review and approval of new and updated data attributes requests.
  • Ensure requirements are captured to define and implement new attributes or update existing attributes. Working with business stakeholders, data governance and IT teams to ensure successful implementation is key.
  • Support the delivery of reporting, ad hoc, and analytics requests
  • Complete necessary training sessions with the team
  • Provide regular project updates to Supervisor
  • Develop, implement, and maintain data security oversight and KPI to successfully measure data governance objectives
  • Makes recommendations to immediate supervisor regarding the action towards continuous improvement of processes within the quality of master data

Minimum Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent experience. Typically requires 4+ years of relevant experience.

Critical Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in the field of data management and analysis.
  • Experience in data processing, audit, quality assurance, and/or process improvement experience is a plus
  • Analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and relationship-building skills
  • Problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritization (time management) skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work under general direction on multiple tasks with competing timelines
  • Intermediate knowledge of Excel

Additional Experience Requirements

  • Professional conduct and demeanor, uses discretion and maintains a high level of confidentiality
  • Preferred experience in SAP, JD Edwards, People Soft, or other ERP systems
  • Leadership competency.
  • Influencing skills.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, science or computer science or relevant professional experience.

In addition to base pay, other compensation, such as an annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities may be offered.

Our Base Pay Range for this position

$73,100 - $121,900
