Site Safety Leader (Material Handler Specialist)
Schedule- FT - M-F 8am - 4:30pm
Minimum Requirement:
- Typically requires 3+ years of related experience.
Associate will be responsible for:
- Ensure compliance to McKesson safety and security initiatives and that requirements are completed by due dates, which include but not limited to:
- Safety and security inspections.
- Reoccurring quality audits
- Monthly DC Warehouse Inspections, Lanyards/Harness, Ladders, Racking, Fire Extinguisher, Eyewash stations, AEDs, Safety Walks
- Safety Action Plan Management
- Stretching initiatives
- DC training ownership – review and manage assigned courses through MCL, NESO/New Hire, Safety Awareness Topics, Start-up Meeting Quick Hit Topics, Safety Refreshers, Recertifications
- Spill kit training and kit maintenance
- Safety Portal and DC incident reporting support
- Logging incidents
- Investigation/Preventive Action
- Follow-up
- Safety observations
- Assist with powered industrial equipment training for new hires and retrain current employees as needed.
- Maintain the integrity of the PIT processes and record accuracy on the PIT APP
- Ensuring employee adherence to requirements (pre-shift inspections, PPE, Safe Operation)
- Lead the building’s Safety Committee
- Monthly meetings
- Material preparation
- Action item tracking and follow up through completion

- Lead the building’s Spill Team
- Team meetings
- Monthly mock spills
- Willing to assist the DC trainers as needed
- Enforce building cleanliness
- Projects and other tasks as required

- PC use – (Required); Excel, Word, Outlook,
- Use of: Safety Portal; Maintenance Connection, Smart Sheets, SharePoint
- Basic Data analysis:
- Excel functions: filters, sum, pivot tables, Vlookup
- Basic Math – add/subtract/multiple/divide
- Working knowledge of wise processes and safety programs
- Problem solving skills
- Equipment Certified on Pallet Rider, Order Picker & Reach Truck (Required)
- Complete the Crown PIT trainer course (within 6 months of hire)
- OSHA Training
