Rx Savings Solutions offers an innovative, patented software system that educates and empowers consumers to make the best healthcare choices at the lowest cost. Founded and operated by a team of pharmacists and software engineers, we support a collaborative, cost-saving solution for purchasing prescription drugs.
The RxSS team is seeking a Senior Software Engineer looking for an opportunity to contribute to a rapidly growing software-as-a-service in the healthcare space and a fun-loving culture! This role will report to directly to the Senior Engineering Manager over our Member Experience Development teams and provide architecture, guidance and software development for our Portal and Portal Operations groups. The ideal candidate will have full-stack software development experience on an enterprise application, including front-end experience with React.js and Vue.js.
Ideally, we are seeking a local candidate in the Kansas City area who can work hybrid (in office / from home, but we will consider a well-qualified, fully remote individual.
Responsibilities include:
Design, develop and maintain more complex features of an enterprise application
Effective team building and problem-solving abilities
Ability to take ownership of tasks and deliver while mentoring and helping team members
Ensure understanding of issues and present clear rationale
Test the developed code, perform unit testing and functional testing as needed
Take ownership of projects and see that any bugs are handled quickly and appropriately
Refactor code from legacy systems to adhere to current standards and conventions
Collaborate with a team of diverse technical experts to produce high quality products
Perform other duties as requested by management
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Computer Science, Information Systems OR equivalent professional experience
Minimum 4+ years of relevant experience designing and developing applications
Experience performing front-end development using React.js and Vue.js
Experience developing backend applications with any object-oriented language (PHP, Java, etc.)
Experience writing SQL queries and working knowledge of relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, etc.)
Experience writing automated tests and using testing frameworks (Jest, PHPUnit, Cypris, Selenium, etc.)
Strong communication skills and proven ability to communicate, interact and partner with stakeholders of different backgrounds and skill levels
Experience mentoring more junior developers with guidance and professional development
Proven ability to be flexible, adaptable and be able to autonomously manage tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with short turnaround times
Proven passion for bringing out innovative ideas and trying out new solutions, while being open-minded to feedback
It would be nice if you had:
Experience with version control software and development lifecycle tools such as JIRA
Robust understanding of MySQL and RDBMS best practices

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. In addition to base pay, other compensation, such as an annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities may be offered.
Our Base Pay Range for this position
