Rx Savings Solutions is currently seeking a Network Engineer to create and deliver engineering design and implementation plans for the Rx Savings Solution enterprise level network. Primary focus for this position is to design, implement, and sustain solutions and evolution for our cloud network infrastructure that supports SaaS based applications. Engineering designs must be flexible and scalable to support the network services for both on premises and cloud-based services. Our ideal candidate will have experience with the Palo Alto suite of networking tools. Familiarity with network automation leveraging Python, Ansible, JSON, Terraform, Rest API’s, and other technologies preferred. This is a great opportunity to work in a team environment where you will be part of the engineering group that supports our corporate enterprise infrastructure. Ideally, we are seeking a local candidate in the Kansas City area who can work hybrid (in office / from home), but we will consider a well-qualified, fully remote individual.
Responsibilities include:
Design and implement Palo Alto’s suite of networking tools in a cloud infrastructure with a minor focus on on-prem networking
Demonstrate in-depth understanding of networking to include routing, switching, firewall (stateful/stateless), network monitoring and management.
Expertise in designing, configuring, implementing, and troubleshooting these various technologies and protocols.
Expertise with Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and similar cloud services and have experience designing, configuring, provisioning, and deploying solutions specifically at the network layer.
Excellent ability to collaborate with other IT disciplines to troubleshoot and resolve complex problems.
Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases.
Drive enhancements through full life-cycle from concept to final implementation and support
Participate in disaster recovery development, exercises, and actual events.
Contribute directly to the technical work of one or more projects.
Maintain systems and documentation as needed for audits and compliance.
Strong desire to keep technical skills current and remain abreast of emerging technologies.
Keep abreast of industry white papers & informed of industry direction and best practices.
Very rare off hours response may be needed
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree or equivalent, and minimum of 4 years of experience relative to the responsibilities listed above
4+ years of experience with networking technologies and core Internet protocols (e.g. TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, wireless, and distributed networks)
Experience designing, implementing, and sustaining AWS, Azure, and Google cloud service technologies.
Knowledge or understanding of:
Agile framework or scrum team work environment.
Cloud Networking Technology: AWS, Azure, Internet Gateways (IGW’s), Virtual Private Networks (VPN’s),
Software Defined Networking (SDN) technology and vendor
Application Programming Interface (APIs) and API Gateways
Proactive, independent problem-solver who likes to be challenged, continuously learning
Ability to work and communicate effectively with remote team
Strong interpersonal, collaboration, written and verbal communication skills
Preferred qualifications:
Cloud (AWS, Azure, etc.), Cisco, Juniper, Security+ certifications preferred
Experience working and integrating open source frameworks/products as well as deploying open source packages and/or application stacks into environment with multi-core, multithreaded, and distributed systems
Knowledge of network configuration protocols – NETCONF, YANG, REST-CONF, etc. a plus
Experience with Configuration Management tools (i.e. Ansible, Puppet, Chef)
Software-Defined Network (SDN) and Software-Defined WAN (SDWAN) deployment experience

In addition to base pay, other compensation, such as an annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities may be offered.
Our Base Pay Range for this position
