Senior Transportation Associate
Location: 14010 164th Street, Edmonton
On-site preferred (may consider remote). Remote workers will be required to work in office for meetings, etc., so, the candidate must be in close proximity to Edmonton or be willing to relocate for the opportunity with no relocation assistance.
Shift: Daytime hours, Monday to Friday (start/end times to be determined)
Office environment located within a distribution centre
Full-time permanent
This career opportunity offers a competitive base compensation, 2 weeks vacation (pro-rated based on start date), 2 floater days (pro-rated based on start date), a group insurance program (after 90 days), RSP pension program, an additional bonus program, and a chance to work within a great division of McKesson in transportation.
Job Summary
Reporting to the Transportation Manager, the Sr. Transportation Associate will be responsible to provide ongoing support concerning day to day operations of the regional Transportation team. This includes, but is not limited to, accountability for transportation analysis and shipment support within the region, providing information and administrative support regarding transportation operations to the regional Transportation Manager, as well as ongoing support to internal customers.
Specific Responsibilities
Responsible to act as regional Transport liaison/first point of contact concerning any carrier related issues or concerns with all internal / external customers
Work directly with customer service/west track & Trace team to address outstanding issues within tight deadlines
Process and monitor product loss and damage claims to appropriate carriers and coordinate with other departments as required
Report and escalate any significant issues as per established procedures
Collect and provide status report updates from all carriers to monitor route performance throughout the day and forward to various departments as required

Maintain logs and compile information on routes, rates and services on various vendors
Interact with carriers as required
Support regional regional Transportation Mgr and Sr. Financial Analyst through invoice validation/processing and coordination with accounts payable
Engage with Transportation management on areas of opportunity and improvement
Follow company policies and procedures, including Health and Safety policies
Support the regional Transport team on projects as necessary
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Typically requires 1+ years of related experience
Additional Qualifications
3 years in a transportation related position along with the completion of post secondary education is preferred. A combination of education and experience will be considered
Proficient English communication skills (verbal and written)
Poised under pressure with ability to organize, multitask, respond, problem solve, and prioritize in a fast-paced deadline driven environment
Strong focus on customer service and commitment to customer satisfaction (internal and external stakeholders)
Must be familiar and able to work with computers and automation with a solid understanding and willingness to use various software platforms such as MS Office suite and Salesforce
High level of personal integrity and trustworthiness
Basic math and reading skills and a high standard for attention to detail and accuracy
Team player who is able to thrive in a team environment, but also able to lead, take initiative, and work independently
Demonstrated flexibility/adaptability
Ability to work in a diverse environment that includes many internal members from different lines of the McKesson business
Ability to challenge processes and seek out process improvements or creative ways of completing tasks

Our Base Pay Range for this position
