At CoverMyMeds, we believe in unlocking the power of data to improve healthcare access and outcomes. The Director of Business Development – Data Commercialization will play a pivotal role in expanding our reach into the data aggregator space. This role is responsible for identifying and pursuing new sales opportunities, building strategic relationships, and driving engagement with organizations that aggregate and distribute healthcare data.

You’ll be the face of CoverMyMeds in this market—leading with empathy, curiosity, and a consultative mindset to uncover opportunities where our data solutions can make a meaningful impact. Your work will directly support our mission to help people get the medicine they need to live healthier lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a strategic business development plan focused on data aggregators.
  • Understanding and Leveraging Data Sets by understanding the value of broader and expanded sets across the enterprise
  • Engagement with CMM Pharma CSTs to explore insights into opportunities within the Pharma market
  • Conduct market research to understand trends, competitive landscape, and aggregator needs.
  • Build and maintain relationships with senior executives and decision-makers in the data aggregation space.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Analytics, and Product teams to align efforts and deliver value.
  • Drive RFP invitations by engaging with aggregator stakeholders and consultants.
  • Manage pipeline and report using Salesforce
  • Cultivate opportunities and successfully transition leads through to the sales process.
  • Develop a strong partnership between Product, Marketing, Pricing,  Legal and Operations to identify commercial opportunities for new data commercialization
  • Represent CoverMyMeds at industry events and conferences.
  • Operate effectively within a highly matrixed organization, embracing our enterprise mindset.

About You

The idea candidate is a strategic thinker and relationship builder with a passion for solving complex problems. You thrive in fast-paced environments, take initiative, and bring executive presence to both strategic and tactical engagements. You’re energized by the opportunity to shape how CoverMyMeds engages with the data aggregator market.

Experience and Preferred Qualifications:

  • 8+ years in business development or consultancy, or sales in healthcare data or analytics.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or equivalent (advanced degree preferred).
  • Experience in both working at a data buyer and data seller preferred
  • Proven success in consultative selling and lead qualification.
  • Deep understanding of data aggregation, commercialization, and payer/pharmacy dynamics.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Experience navigating complex organizations and engaging C-level stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Salesforce and CRM pipeline management.
  • Willingness to travel up to 75%.

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$120,000 - $200,000
